Words Weekend was Fane's first ever festival: an exceptional, international line-up of literary events, championing diversity, accessibility and the rich talent and culture of the North East.

Rona developed the social strategy and community building for the inaugural festival - which took place at the Sage Gateshead in 2019. This also included live coverage across the weekend, leading from Instagram Stories and Twitter Takeovers.

Artists included Grayson Perry, Marian Keyes, Ben Okri, Stacey Dooley, Nadiya Hussain, Candice Carty-Williams and many more.
